Water Conservation
TAW understands the importance of water conservation and its effects on the environment.Using a unique water management system TAW has been able to achieve...an outstanding LWG score of 106/100.
While traditional tanneries release effluent treated water into running streams... at TAW a three stage Reverse Osmosis process combined with Mechanical Evaporation, recycles 95% of the water used in tanning back into the tannery for re-use.
Women’s Empowerment
At a time when women were discouraged to set foot into the workplace, we pioneered in employing numerous women from the town of Ambur to join and expand the culture of TAW.
Education
Giving back to society has been the onus and motivation for the group and TAW has invested time and energy towards social causes, taking up CSR activities in and around the tannery.
A foundation started by the founder Mr. T. Abdul Wahid has been running a full-fledged Higher Secondary School in the town of Ambur, since 1983. The school imparts quality education to 2200 children from Ambur town.
The school prepares children to face upcoming challenges confidently and is equipped with smart classrooms and state-of-the-art infrastructure: that includes a play area for kindergarten students, modern labs for science & computers, and sporting facilities for football, cricket and track & field events. The aim is to provide a strong foundation for the young citizens of our nation to become responsible, socially conscious adults.
Health Camps
Our recent health camp was a testament to our unwavering commitment to the well-being of our employees. Not only did we offer comprehensive health assessments, including temperature checks and general health consultations, but we also prioritized COVID-19 vaccinations. With a dedicated team of medical professionals, we provided a safe and convenient platform for our employees to get vaccinated, bolstering our collective efforts in the fight against the pandemic. This initiative reflects our deep concern for the safety of our workforce and our commitment to maintaining a healthy and resilient workplace. Together, we are building a safer, more secure future for all.
TAW Tree Plantation Drive
In collaboration with the District Collector of Tirupathur, 500 trees were planted around TAW’s Tannery Campus to create a greenery- infused, ecological environment. Over a hundred students from TAW’s school participated in the plant drive to bring awareness of the importance of such initiatives to the youth of the nation.
